Standards, Controls & Support

Whether you explore the Crown-Spire Proving Grounds with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard alone, or browse with reduced motion enabled, our range briefings and facts strips are built to remain calm, legible, and complete.

1. WCAG 2.2 Level AA Design Targets & Daylight Contrast

SpruceBlitz (spruceblitz.xyz), operated by [Operator legal name] in [Operator country and province or state], is designed and tested to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We treat accessibility as structural timbercraft—built directly into our HTML, CSS, and editorial layouts rather than bolted on as an overlay.

Warm Daylight Reading Surfaces

Long-form guides, comparison tables, and legal pages are set on planed Sitka spruce cream (#FBF7F0) and heartwood buff (#F2E9DA) panels with deep spruce-espresso ink (#122019 and #1A0C03), delivering contrast ratios above 11:1 for comfortable sustained reading.

Unobscured Artwork & Solid Plinths

Where headings or titles cross illustrated backdrops, we never rely on low-contrast translucent washes. Display typography uses heavy 3D-extruded strokes and solid dark walnut or emerald-slate plinths so every letterform stands crisp against the painted world.

Touch Targets & Responsive Scaling

Every interactive link, navigation item, summary toggle, and hexagonal button meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.2 minimum target size of 24×24 CSS pixels (with primary buttons sized at 44px height or taller) and reflows cleanly from a 320px phone screen up to wide desktop monitors without horizontal scrolling.

Complete Without JavaScript

All game briefings, facts strips, comparison tables, and official outbound links are rendered directly in semantic HTML. If JavaScript is disabled or unavailable, the mobile navigation remains accessible as a scrollable bar and every scroll-revealed element displays at full opacity.

2. Motion & Hero Video Controls

The opening hero stage on the Proving Grounds home page features a looping animation of Sprukor Vael and Blitzara Kestrel on the sunlit sky-bridge. We have engineered this stage so that you are always in control of movement on your screen:

  • Silent by Design: The hero video contains no audio track and will never play unexpected sound.
  • Persistent Pause / Play Toggle: A high-contrast brass-and-emerald button in the upper-right corner of the hero stage lets you pause or resume the video at any time with a mouse click, tap, or keyboard activation (Enter or Space).
  • Automatic Reduced-Motion Fallback (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce): When your operating system or browser is set to prefer reduced motion, SpruceBlitz automatically suppresses the looping video and displays the crisp high-resolution still illustration in its place. Smooth-scrolling transitions and scroll-reveal animations are also turned off immediately.

3. Keyboard Navigation & Assistive Technology

Every sector, game dossier, and reference table on SpruceBlitz can be traversed using a standard keyboard or assistive technology without mouse input:

Interaction / Key Bastion Behaviour on SpruceBlitz
Tab (First Press) Reveals the high-contrast “Skip to main content” link in the top-left corner so you can bypass the sticky navigation bar and jump straight to #main.
Tab / Shift + Tab Moves forward or backward through all links, buttons, and expandable facts-strip <summary> toggles in logical reading order, surrounded by a 3px electric-cyan (#00F0FF) focus ring.
Enter or Space Activates the focused link or button, toggles the hero video pause/play control, opens or closes the mobile menu, and expands or collapses the source details inside any game's facts pod.
Escape Closes the mobile navigation drawer when open on narrow viewports and returns focus cleanly.

Semantic Landmarks & Screen Reader Announcements

  • Clear Heading Outline: Every page has a single <h1> followed by properly nested <h2> and <h3> headings so screen-reader users can jump rapidly by section or game title.
  • Descriptive Alt Text & Decorative Separation: Each of the eight bespoke game covers and world scene illustrations carries descriptive alternative text explaining the visual action, while purely ornamental brass frames, corner struts, and background textures are marked with empty alt attributes (alt="") so they never clutter screen-reader output.
  • Explicit Outbound Link Notices: Every hexagonal “Visit Official Site” button includes a screen-reader note indicating that the link opens an external publisher website in a new tab.
  • Third-Party Game Websites: Please note that when you follow an official link to play one of the eight featured browser shooters (such as Bullet Force, DEADSHOT.io, Cryzen.io, BuildNow GG, SkillWarz, Kirka.io, Poxel.io, or Pixel Warfare), you leave spruceblitz.xyz. Each game's controls, audio cues, and interface accessibility are managed by its respective developer or publisher. You can review each game's camera perspective, modes, and account requirements before visiting in our Range Manual.

4. Requesting Accessible Formats & Reporting Barriers

If you encounter a layout issue, a keyboard trap, a contrast problem, or if you need any part of our shooter guides, facts blocks, or policies provided in an alternative accessible format (such as plain text, large-print PDF, or structured data), please contact us directly.
